Tyres on ice: Alliance and Galaxy demonstrate winter performance in Sweden
Sälen, Sweden, March 2026: In temperatures of minus 15°C and surrounded by a snow-covered landscape, Alliance and Galaxy tyres recently demonstrated their capabilities in demanding winter conditions during a special Ice Event in Sälen, Sweden. Organised together with Nordic distribution partner NDI, the event brought together tyre dealers and customers to experience the performance of different tyre solutions in real-world winter environments.
Using a fleet of Ljungby L11 wheel loaders equipped with different tyre configurations as well as tractors fitted with Alliance agricultural tyres, participants were able to observe how tyre choice affects traction, control and operational safety when operating on snow and ice.
The practical demonstrations were accompanied by product training sessions led by Alliance and Galaxy experts, who provided insights into tyre design, winter performance and the importance of selecting the right tyre solution for demanding conditions.
“All participants I spoke to were extremely satisfied with the day, and the atmosphere was excellent,” says Ola Persson, Area Manager for the heavy segment at NDI Sweden. “Several even asked whether they could return next year, which is always a sign of a successful event.”
Real-world insights for winter operations
The event attracted customers mainly from the Euromaster network, as well as representatives from Super Däck, Däckpartner and First Stop. For many participants, the demonstrations provided valuable practical insights into how specialised tyre solutions can improve traction, stability and productivity when working in challenging winter environments.
By showcasing both Alliance agricultural tyres and Galaxy construction tyres, the event highlighted how modern off-highway tyre technology enables reliable operations even in extreme weather conditions. Whether in agriculture, construction or material handling, selecting the right tyre solution can make a significant difference for safety and efficiency when working on snow and ice.
The snow event was the first of its kind organised jointly by NDI and Alliance in Sweden and aimed to strengthen relationships with customers while demonstrating tyre performance in real operating environments.
“We wanted to show our winter tyre solutions in practice and create a setting where customers could experience the differences directly,” says Persson. “At the same time, it gave us a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with customers and discuss their specific operational needs.”
