UK Farmers Record Up to 20% Fuel Savings
at “Cost & Comfort” Alliance Demo Day

Amsterdam, Netherlands, 27 March 2026: Around 50 farmers and dealers gathered in Prescot to experience firsthand how tire pressure and tire technology can significantly impact fuel consumption, traction and overall efficiency in real working conditions.

Hosted by farmer, contractor and professional user of Alliance tires Olly Harrison, the 2026 Alliance Demo Day brought the industry together for a hands-on demonstration event focused on measurable results.

Throughout the day, Alliance engineers and product specialists guided participants through live demonstrations featuring the brand’s key agricultural ranges:

  • Agri Nova – the newly launched next-generation R-1 Bias tire for light-to-medium duty tractors
  • Agri Star II  – a success story, sold over 1 million times globally
  • AGRIFEX+ 372 VF & 373 VF – Very High Flexion tires engineered for lower inflation pressures, larger footprints and reduced soil compaction
  • 590 & 389 VF – flotation and implement solutions designed to protect soil under heavy loads

“Cost & Comfort”

The most talked-about moment of the day came from a simple but powerful comparison.

Alliance conducted identical road journeys using two Fendt tractors and a comparable Valtra tractor, all equipped with telemetry and fitted with three different Alliance tire models.

The test route covered approximately 17 kilometres and reflected typical mixed road conditions.

The comparison was made between the minimum recommended tire pressure (based on load tables) and the maximum nominal pressure, while keeping all other variables constant — including route, driver, load and (maximum) speed. Driving comfort and road handling were monitored throughout.

The results were clear:

  • Up to 13% fuel consumption difference on standard radial tires
  • Up to 20% fuel consumption difference on VF tires

Across a typical working day of around 300 km, this translates into potential savings of up to £79 per day.

During the demonstration, it became apparent that adjusting tire pressure influenced fuel consumption, driver comfort and the tractor’s road handling. It also became evident that determining the optimal tire pressure for road use is a valuable factor in improving both comfort and operational cost efficiency.

By visualising the relationship between cost and comfort using real data, Alliance demonstrated how the right tire setup can deliver immediate and measurable savings. This provided participants with clear, practical insights they can translate directly into customer conversations.

Grip, Self-cleaning, Efficiency

At the traction station, Alliance and the farm team conducted a pulling demonstration using a Challenger sled to visualise the pulling power of the three Alliance tire profiles on display under equal conditions, showcasing the traction and self-cleaning properties of the Alliance Agri Star II, Agriflex+ 372 and Agriflex+ 373.

Both Fendt tractors, equipped with Alliance Agriflex+ 372 VF and Agri Star II tires, and the Valtra tractor, fitted with Alliance Agriflex+ 373 VF tires, performed controlled pulling passes under equal tire pressure. Visitors observed how each tire model handled traction and self-cleaning.

By setting the correct tire pressure for the given (very wet) conditions and actively measuring slip during the runs, Alliance demonstrated how an optimised tire setup improves power transfer to the ground, reduces energy loss and increases operational efficiency.

The demonstrations also highlighted the tires’ self-cleaning capabilities, maintaining traction even under demanding conditions.

Instead of simply stating that “VF technology improves traction,” the team clearly demonstrated how and why this is the case.

A key highlight was the Alliance Agriflex+ 373 VF “hybrid” pattern tire, which delivered near-equal pulling performance and self-cleaning capability compared to the Agri Star II and Agriflex+ 372.

Agri Nova Completes the Portfolio

The Field Day also marked the UK spotlight moment for Alliance Agri Nova, the new R-1 Bias tire engineered for durability, traction and comfort in light-to-medium duty applications.

Agri Nova features a distinctive 3-angle lug design, higher lug density and a wider tread footprint to enhance traction while promoting even pressure distribution. With a comprehensive size range and Alliance’s seven-year warranty, the tire strengthens the brand’s offering for farmers seeking a robust, cost-efficient solution.

By positioning Agri Nova alongside radial and VF technologies, Alliance demonstrated how its portfolio supports every farming segment from standard tractor operations to high-performance VF applications.

A Field Day with Momentum

Alliance structured the event as a rotating multi-station experience, including:

  • Fuel efficiency demonstrations
  • Traction and self-cleaning performance
  • Product displays and technical briefings

Participants moved through the stations in groups, engaged directly with Alliance experts and discussed real-life application scenarios. The atmosphere combined technical depth with practical farming relevance reinforced by live machines, working tractors and open discussion.

Turning Data into Dealer Confidence

The day underlined a strategic shift: Alliance does not just present tires. It proves performance in front of its partners. By putting fuel consumption, traction and soil protection under real scrutiny, Alliance equipped dealers with practical arguments and data they can confidently bring to market.

With strong attendance, dynamic demonstrations and measurable outcomes, the 2026 UK Field Day delivered exactly what modern agriculture demands: performance backed by proof.
