Galaxy expands Multi-Tough range with five steel-belted sizes.

The 2026 range upgrade strengthens Galaxy Multi-Tough for compact machinery with five new steel-belted sizes available to order in Europe.

Amsterdam, 19 October 2026 – Galaxy, a leading global brand of construction, earthmoving and material handling tires, is expanding its Multi-Tough R-4 range with five new steel-belted sizes for compact machinery. The 2026 upgrade broadens the choice available for telehandlers, backhoe loaders and compact wheel loaders working across hard surfaces and mixed terrain.

Compact machines often move repeatedly between firm yards, roads and loose working surfaces. Their tires must provide traction where the ground gives way, while remaining stable and comfortable during loading, transport and repetitive site work. Galaxy Multi-Tough addresses this combination with a non-directional tread designed for both on-road and off-road use.

The range upgrade adds steel-belted construction across five key sizes and introduces higher load indices on selected fitments. This allows dealers and machine operators to match the tire more closely to equipment duties where load capacity, casing protection and dependable operation are central requirements.

Designed for mixed-surface work

Multi-Tough combines open shoulder areas with substantial central tread blocks. The shoulder lugs support grip and self-cleaning on softer surfaces, while the central blocks place more rubber in contact with firm ground to support roadability and tread life. Its non-directional configuration also maintains traction in forward and reverse travel, an important characteristic for machines that change direction frequently during loading and material-handling cycles.

A broad footprint helps distribute pressure across the contact area and supports machine stability. The tire’s damping characteristics help absorb shocks on uneven ground, while its low rolling-resistance design can contribute to lower fuel consumption during operation.

Key features of the Galaxy Multi-Tough range include:

•Steel-belted construction: Supports load-carrying capacity and improves resistance to punctures and casing damage.
•Non-directional R-4 tread: Provides balanced performance for on-road and off-road work, with traction in both directions of travel.
•Shoulder and centre-block design: Combines grip and self-cleaning on softer terrain with stable wear characteristics on hard surfaces.
•Large footprint and wide tread: Promote ground contact, stability and even pressure distribution.
•Special compound and damping capability: Help protect against cuts and other damage while supporting a smoother ride.

Five steel-belted sizes

The five new sizes are 340/80R18 (12.5/80R18), 143A8/143B; 405/70R20 (16/70R20), 149A8/149B; 405/70R24 (16/70R24), 152A8/152B; 440/80R24 (16.9R24), 161A8; and 480/80R26 (18.4R26), 160B. All are tubeless R-4 specifications. Detailed load, pressure and rim information is available in the corresponding technical documentation.

With these additions, Galaxy strengthens Multi-Tough as a versatile option for compact machines used in construction, industrial and related applications. The range is designed for operators who need one tread concept to handle frequent transitions between hard ground, roads and softer working surfaces.

The five new sizes are available to order in Europe and have been added to customer price lists. Galaxy Multi-Tough tires are covered by a five-year warranty. Customers should contact their local Galaxy representative or distributor for current market details.
