Tested on the farm, chosen again: Giulia Tonello’s Agri Star II experience

After more than two years and around 1,500 working hours on a Fendt 920, the Italian farmer and content creator is ready to invest in Alliance Agri Star II tires for a second tractor.

For farmer and content creator Giulia Tonello of Omnitrattore, the decision to invest in another set of tractor tires is not made lightly. In a market shaped by rising machinery costs and wider economic uncertainty, equipment choices have to be based on practical experience, not assumptions.

That is why her current experience with Alliance Agri Star II tires is now influencing the next tire decision on the farm. The tires have been fitted to the farm’s Fendt 920 for more than two years, completing approximately 1,500 working hours across transport and field applications.

“They have been mounted on our Fendt 920 for over two years and we are very happy with them,” says Tonello. “The tractor is used a lot for transport with tanker and trailer, but also for milling and soil preparation with a 10-shank cultivator.”

A tire choice tested in daily work

Tonello describes the Agri Star II tires as part of the farm’s day-to-day working setup rather than a short-term trial. The Fendt 920 is used in mixed applications, where road comfort, transport stability and field traction all matter during the same working season.

“Driving comfort is definitely important, considering it is a big hauler,” she says. “But we must also say that the traction is truly excellent.”

The Agri Star II is an Alliance agricultural tractor tire developed for a broad range of modern farming operations. It features Alliance’s Stratified Layer Technology (SLT), which reveals new lug geometry as the tread wears, helping maintain traction characteristics over the tire’s service life.

A second set for the Fendt 412

Tonello is now considering fitting a second set of Alliance Agri Star II tires to the farm’s Fendt 412. The tractor would primarily be used for transport work with a three-axle trailer and tanker.

The planned purchase is based on farm experience and technical consultation. After speaking with Alliance technicians, Tonello says the Agri Star II appears to be the appropriate choice for the tractor’s work profile, while also offering what she describes as a strong quality-to-price ratio.

“After consulting with Alliance technicians, Agri Star II is the optimal choice based on the tasks the tractor performs,” she says. “We are really happy with them, and also from the point of view of the current tire market, it seems to us to be the right choice.”

Reducing risk through known performance

For many farms, investment decisions are currently being made with greater caution. Tonello points not only to global uncertainty, but also to the sharp increase in agricultural machinery prices. In that environment, she says every purchase has to be considered carefully, especially when a major investment could put pressure on a business if it is not truly necessary.

For Tonello, the key criteria when investing in tires are durability, performance in the intended application and the relationship between quality and price. Choosing a product that has already proved itself on the farm is one way to reduce the risk of a wrong decision.

“If I already know the product, I know it is valid, works well and lasts a long time,” she says. “It certainly reduces costs by avoiding making the wrong choice with another type of tire.”

Asked why she would consider buying Agri Star II tires again, Tonello’s answer is direct: “Because I am happy with it, it meets the requirements of the work and has an excellent quality-to-price ratio.”

Confidence on the road and in the field

Tonello says the confidence to invest in Agri Star II for a second time comes from the combination of the tire’s performance, its suitability for the farm’s work profile and the support of the seven-year warranty.

“They meet our needs, both in the field and on the road,” she says.
