Four live demonstrations showed how matching tire choice and pressure to the job can protect soil, improve traction and reduce fuel-wasting slip.
Bismark (Altmark)-Schernikau, Germany, September 2026:Alliance tires held its first Field Day in eastern Germany on 26 August 2026, supported by Bohnenkamp SE and its partner AGRAVIS TECHNIK.
Farmers and agricultural professionals from the region took part in four live stations designed to turn tire technology into practical decisions. The demonstrations focused on managing sprayer tire pressure correctly with Alliance Agriflex+ 354 VF tires, pulling force in relation to tire pressure with Agriflex+ 372, soil compaction and footprint with Agriflex+ 372, and the effect of pressure on slip and operating costs with Agriflex+ 373.
At the pressure-management station, an agricultural sprayer equipped with Alliance Agriflex+ 354 VF tires showed why inflation pressure should be based on the machine load, operating speed and work being carried out. Alliance specialists explained how weighing a machine and consulting the tire load table provides the basis for an appropriate setting instead of relying on a single pressure for every task.

Reducing road pressure to the correct field setting allows a tire to lengthen its footprint and distribute the load over a larger area. Compared with a conventional radial tire of the same size, VF technology can carry the same load at up to 40 percent lower pressure or up to 40 percent more load at the same pressure.

A pulling-force demonstration using Alliance Agriflex+ 372 tires illustrated how pressure changes the way a tire engages with the ground. Excessive pressure reduces the footprint, while pressure that is too low can cause the centre of the tread to collapse inwards. The correct setting helps the tread work effectively across its width, transferring more power into forward movement.

| “Tire pressure is not a single setting that suits every operation. It needs to reflect the axle load, operating speed and work being carried out. When these factors are matched correctly, farmers can put more power into forward movement, reduce soil stress and make better use of both the machine and the tire.”— Gerrit Vinkers, Field Service Manager Europe at Alliance |
At the soil station, a prepared profile made the effects of tire footprint visible below the surface. Contrasting layers in an excavated pit showed how machine load is transferred into the ground when equipment fitted with Alliance Agriflex+ 372 tires passes over it.
The demonstration illustrated why the surface track alone does not tell the whole story. Deeper compaction can restrict roots and disturb the balance between soil, air and water. A larger, correctly developed footprint distributes the load more evenly and can help protect the soil structure on which future yields depend.

A fourth station used Alliance Agriflex+ 373 VF tires to connect pressure and footprint with wheel slip, fuel consumption and cost. Unnecessary slip means that engine power and fuel are being used without producing equivalent forward movement. Setting pressure correctly for the implement and conditions can therefore support both field performance and operating efficiency.

Farmer and agricultural content creator Stefan Vogelsang made a guest appearance and added a practical farm perspective.

| “Especially on large-scale farms in eastern Germany, choosing the right tires is a key factor in maintaining soil health. Tire pressure should be adjusted for each task and kept as low as the load and operating conditions allow. Proper ballasting is equally important: only as much additional weight should be carried as is actually needed for efficient traction.”— Stefan Vogelsang, farmer and agricultural content creator |
Alongside the demonstrations, Alliance and Bohnenkamp SE presented agricultural and transport tires and discussed applications directly with visitors. AGRAVIS TECHNIK contributed regional machinery expertise and supported the working demonstrations.
The event formed part of Alliance’s programme of practical Field Days across Europe, bringing tire specialists, distribution partners and farmers together to make tire performance visible under working conditions.
